Australia Eclipse – 2012

Australia is an old continent with a long tradition of tribal gatherings where the sounds of didgeridoo and clapsticks created an unique atmosphere which today is instantly recognisable around the planet.

Eclipse 2012 showcased a breathtaking array of music covering all the different genres you’ve come to expect from festivals like Rainbow Serpent, Symbiosis and Glade. With an open mind and adventurous soul there were always sounds to move to and beats to feel.

The management team behind the event included key members from renowned international events such asRainbow Serpent Festival (Australia) and Symbiosis (USA) with support from Glade Festival (UK), Psyclone Events andMosaic Vision. These organisations came together to make this occasion, in remote far north Queensland one of Australia’s most memorable festivals.

Fresh from PYRAMID ECLIPSE in May, we teamed up withEarth Frequency Festival and Omelette Records to present a stunning broken beat stage, with the best of what the world and Australia have to offer across the genres of dub-step, glitch-hop, future bass, ethno-crunk, breakbeats, IDM and more.

Eclipse 2012 encouraged artists to delve deep into the depths of their imagination, to push boundaries, and to brazenly produce the beautiful and the bizarre. There was be a full artistic program over the 7-day event showcasing international, national and local visual and performance arts.

The artistic creations were overflowing from the visionary minds of these artists, showcasing a wide array of multi dimensional decor, stage design, art installations big and small, a visionary arts gallery, live painting, indigenous arts, interactive media, and mind-bending performance and dance. We extended an open invitation for artists of all sorts to participate, create, and watch how it all unfolds. After the hugely positive response from their first Australian tour in 2011, international visionary artistsAlex Grey & Allyson Grey returned to Australia for an exclusive appearance at Eclipse 2012. This special occasion also marks the official Australian launch of Net of Being, Alex Grey’s first book in 10 years!

And to make it even better, Tribe 13 was there to represent the West Coast!

Performances were amazing and awe-inspiring! Over six incredible days, the Eclipse 2012 played host to some of the world’s most incredible performance talent. We were delighted to enjoy a spectacular line-up of international, interstate and local Australian performance artists, all whom were carefully selected. Their unique and amazing skills and creativity took us to other realms and opened our eyes and doors of perception to new possibilities. They graced the stages, entranced the dance floors and embraced the campsites.
